IS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY REALLY FOR THE "AFRICAN AMERICANS?"

You know how you tend to look up miscellaneous stuff because something you see in a TV show or movie you're watching triggers a memory? I felt inclined to look up 1936 Olympic medalist Jesse Owens, black American champion, and the winner of several gold medals during the 1936 Berlin (Hitler's) Olympics. The reported story was that Hitler considered blacks to be inferior, and because their physiques were stronger, they should be eliminated from future Olympic competition, and that Hitler snubbed Jesse Owens because he was black. However, there is a photograph taken that showed Hitler shaking Owens hand behind the Olympic platform. When there was a NY ticker tape parade held in Owens honor when he returned home, Owens had to take the freight elevator up to the reception at the Waldorf Astoria hotel. The then president of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Democrat, never invited Owens to the White House. He did not even acknowledge his achievement with a telegram. Owens joined the Republican party. He campaigned for the Republican candidate, Al Langdon throughout the country trying to get the black vote for Langdon. He told the listeners at the rally that Hitler never snubbed him. He told the people in the audience that the president of the U. S. A., Franklin Roosevelt snubbed him. And FDR has long been portrayed along with his spouse, Eleanor to be the "champion" of the black race. Really? Just like president Abraham Lincoln was portrayed as the "Great Emancipator." One is about as big a lie as the other.
